Huawei Ascend P2 With LTE Officially Announced, World's Fastest LTE Handset WIth 150mbps Connectivity Support

(GSM Insider) - Huawei Ascend P2 With LTE Officially Announced, World's Fastest LTE Handset WIth 150mbps Connectivity Support.

Finally, the Huawei Ascend P2 is now official. Huawei announced this Huawei Ascend P2 a day before the Mobile World Congress 2013. So this device smiles to us one day earlier than expected. 


Huawei Ascend P2 features a 4.7-inch 720p HD display which is similar to the report that was reported by GSM Insider two days earlier. The processor of Huawei Ascend P2 is 1.5GHz Hisilicon K3V2 quad-core and the RAM is 1GB large. So, no Hisilicon K3V3 for Huawei Ascend P2 yet. The camera of Huawei Ascend P2 is rather impressive as the rear-facing camera is a 13-megapixels while the front-facing is 1.3-megapixel.

Other specs of Huawei Ascend P2 include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE-enabled, a MicroSD slot and 16GB of internal memory. Huawei Ascend P2 running on Emotion UI based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The main focus point about the LTE chip inside the device. Huawei Ascend P2 is supported LTE Cat-4 so the speed can up to 150mbps. It is indeed the world's fastest LTE device. 

The body of Huawei Ascend P2 is 8.6mm. So it wasn't the world's thinnest smartphone. The Huawei Ascend P2 is available in black and white two colors. The availability of Huawei Ascend P2 is around the second half of 2013.

Huawei Ascend D2 and Huawei Ascend Mate are definitely not the competitors for HTC One in the terms of specs. But the Huawei Ascend D2 and Huawei Ascend Mate selling with the competitive pricing in the market. The Huawei Ascend D2 will definitely challenge the HTC One in the market especially both also with the 1080p Full HD display, 2GB of RAM and quad-core processor. Another advantage of the Huawei Ascend D2 is it supported waterproof feature. But HTC One features HTC Zoe, HTC BlinkFeed, HTC BoomSound and other new features. One for the specs, one for the price and one for the size. Go for the one you prefer.

According to sources, Nokia set to introduce a new series of smartphones. The new series is focusing on low budget devices as the main target is the low budget market. 

Recently, Nokia released the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 that both considered as the high end devices in the market. With these two devices, Nokia unable to compete with ZTE and Huawei in the low budget market. But things are going to change soon.

Nokia set to introduce low budget devices at the Mobile World Congress 2013. The Finnish company hopes that the low budget devices able to provide certain competition to ZTE and Huawei in the low end market like China, India and Africa.

Recently, Japanese carrier Emobile has launched Huawei GL07S smartphone. It looks like the Huawei Ascend P2 smartphone that is set for launch at the Mobile World Congress 2013


Huawei GL07S features 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixels camera, 32GB of internal memory and a 2350mAh battery. Huawei GL07S supported LTE network and the thickness is 8.6mm. 

Emobile is a small size carrier in Japan. The Huawei GL07S is the first LTE-enabled device for Emobile. Since the Huawei Ascend P2 is not launch yet, hard to determine whether Huawei GL07S is the Huawei Ascend P2 variant in Japan.

The first Windows Phone 8 device from Huawei gets approval from the FCC. The Huawei Ascend W1 on its way flying to the American region soon. 


Huawei Ascend W1 was debuted at the CES 2013 last month. It is a mid-range Windows Phone 8 that same standard like the HTC 8S. So the price definitely going to be cheaper than other leading Windows Phone 8 flagships in the market. 

The Huawei Ascend W1 already on sale in its home country, China. The price is around $274 after conversion. This Windows Phone 8 device was said to on its way to Europe soon. Those living in the Africa are getting the Huawei Ascend W1 as well. But it was launched with the name of Huawei 4Afrika there. So, American are you ready for the Huawei Ascend W1?

These three devices have the different sizes of displays. Huawei Ascend Mate is the largest with 6.1-inch followed by LG Optimus G Pro with 5.5-inch and Huawei Ascend D2 with 5-inch. Huawei Ascend D2 and LG Optimus G Pro have 1080p Full HD resolution while Huawei Ascend Mate has only 720p HD resolution. 

LG Optimus G Pro, Huawei Ascend D2 and Huawei Ascend Mate have the same of 2GB of RAM. Huawei Ascend D2 and Huawei Ascend Mate are powered by the K3V2 Hisilicon quad-core processor while LG Optimus G Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T quad-core processor. The LG Optimus G Pro has the upper hand over these two Huawei devices. 

LG Optimus G Pro and Huawei Ascend D2 have 32GB of internal memory but Huawei Ascend D2 does not support MicroSD expansion. Huawei Ascend Mate supported MicroSD expansion too. 

LG Optimus G Pro and Huawei Ascend D2 have the same 13-megapixels rear-facing camera while the Huawei Ascend Mate features 8-megapixels rear-facing camera only. The front camera of Huawei Ascend Mate is only 1-megapixel while Huawei Ascend D2 has 1.3-megapixel. The LG Optimus G Pro has 2.1-megapixels front-facing camera. 

The LG Optimus G Pro and Huawei Ascend D2 share the same thickness at 9.4mm while Huawei Ascend Mate has 9.9mm thickness. The weight of Huawei Ascend Mate is almost 200g while the LG Optimus G Pro and Huawei Ascend D2 weighting less than 175g.
