Nokia Sold More Than 14 Million Units of Lumia Windows Phone To-Date

(GSM Insider) - Nokia Sold More Than 14 Million Units of Lumia Windows Phone In Year 2012.

When Nokia opted for Windows Phone and Android, there were criticisms on its choice. Finally, Nokia achieved something and proved those analysts wrong. 


The financial result of Nokia for Q4 2012 just released. It showed that Nokia sold 4.4 million units of Nokia Lumia Windows Phone for that period. It is quite impressive for them. So, the answer is Nokia sold how many Nokia Lumia until now? The answer is more than 14 million units 

These are the numbers provided by Nokia financial report:

Q4 2011 - More than 1 million units

Q1 2012 - 2 million units

Q2 2012 - 4 million units

Q3 2012 - 2.9 million units

Q4 2012 - 4.4 million units

The sales of Q3 2012 was slightly lower because Microsoft and Nokia announced that the older models are not getting Windows Phone 8 update any time. This caused the possible to fend off from older models and waiting for the arrival of Windows Phone 8 devices.

The Q4 2012 sales exceeded the expectation of Nokia. It is indeed better than many would predicted. With strong growth and interest on Windows Phone, it is believes that the sales of Nokia Lumia will increases as well.
